How much does plastering cost?
 Plastering prices can vary since every property and project is unique, the time, materials, and preparation required will differ from job to job but to help you estimate potential costs, we've provided a rough guide to plastering prices below

Skimming (per m2) : £10-£15

Skimming rates vary depending on the condition of existing surfaces, the amount of preparation work required, and the total area to be covered. Factors such as repairs, primer requirements, ceiling height, whether rooms are empty or furnished and the overall complexity of the project can all affect labour and material costs. As a guide, skimming typically costs between £10–£15/m²

Plasterboard installation (per m2) : £15-£25

Plasterboarding for full rooms or larger areas using standard plasterboard typically starts from £15/m². Final rates may vary depending on the type of boards used, fixing method, ceiling height, access, and overall project size.

* Rates may be higher for smaller or awkward areas, difficult access areas, or where minimum day charges apply.

 
Contracting Rates - 

Subcontracting services are available on a price-per-job or daily rate basis, tailored to your project needs. Primarily covering a 50-mile radius of Doncaster, DN3, but can travel further for select projects

Key Factors Influencing Plastering Costs

• Room Size & Current Condition
  Why it matters: The size and condition of the room are key factors in determining the quote. Larger areas or rooms requiring significant repairs will need more time, labor, and materials. We assess the overall state of the space to determine the level of preparation needed
  
  
• Ceiling Height & Access
  Why it matters: Rooms with higher ceilings or sloped surfaces often require additional equipment, such as scaffolding, and take longer to complete. Limited access, like narrow doorways or tight spaces, can also increase the complexity and time involved in the job
   
• Repairs & Surface Preparation
  Why it matters: Any damage to the existing surfaces—such as blown plaster, large cracks, electrical / plumbing chases or unevenness—must be addressed before plastering begins. This preparatory work ensures a smooth, stable surface for the new plaster. The extent of the repairs will influence both the time and materials required  
   
• Premium Materials
  Why it matters: Certain projects require high-quality or specialized materials such as insulated plasterboards or moisture-resistant panels. These materials offer superior performance but come at a higher cost and can often take longer to install
